Dr. Dee is the daughter of Belizean parents. Her father is from Hopkins Village and her mother is from Dangriga Town. She is also former Miss Garifuna of Los Angeles, and don’t you dare ask what year it was when she won!
She entered the field of pharmacy as a pharmacy specialist in the United States Air Force. When she left the military, she worked as a pharmacy technician and grew more interested in becoming a pharmacist due to the influence of several pharmacists and their confidence in her.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University, Los Angeles and her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Her main aspiration is to help educate as many people as possible about how to prevent various medical conditions such as diabetes type 2, high cholesterol and high blood pressure, to name a few.
In her quest to educate the public, she also enjoys speaking to high school students about the different health professions that exist and giving them details on the years of schooling, salary, etc. to help give options on the many job possibilities that are available in the healthcare field.
She is grateful that belizeinamerica.net is allowing her to use the site as a platform to teach about overall health education. She looks forward to providing you as many tools as she can to help empower you with as much information as possible to aid in managing your health.
