“Thank You” from the Belize Educational Fund and Day in the Park Committee, Chicago

On behalf of the Belize Educational Fund and Day in the Park Committee, I would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of Belize Day 2015.  The continued support of the vendors, and all those who travelled from near and far to participate in this year’s event was an integral part of the success of the event.

I would also like to thank all the artists and performers for their spectacular performances. Artists and performers like Patman, Danki Man, Lovaboy, Aziatic, Belizean American Dancers, Belize Cultural Bearers and the Jesse White Tumblers have supported Belize Day for many years and we are very grateful for your continued support.  Without your support, Belize Day 2015 would not have been an overwhelming success.

I would also like to acknowledge Miss Melissa Coleman for travelling from Belize to be this year’s mistress of ceremony.  She did an excellent job and definitely added a special touch to this year’s event.  I would also like to acknowledge Mr. Valdez and Valdez Promotions for making Miss Coleman’s travel to Chicago for participation in this year’s Belize Day possible.

I would also like to thank our Honorable Consul, Mrs. Debbie Schell for her continued support.  Her continued visibility within the Belizean community and participation in Belize Day is very much appreciated.  I would like to acknowledge Mr. Cyril Garcia for providing excellent promotion for this year’s Belize Day.    The platform of the Belize in America Website and Facebook page was a crucial part of promoting Belize Day 2015.

Finally, I would like to thank all my fellow Belize Educational Fund and Day in the Park Committee members for all their hard work.  Although planning and organizing Belize Day is an arduous task, you continue to dedicate yourselves to this event because it enables us to support our mission of education in our homeland of Belize as well as here in the United States.

As we move forward with the planning of Belize Day 2016, we will continue to focus on our motto for Belize Day.  “Dedicated to Bringing Belizeans together.”

Once again, thank you all for continuing to make Belize Day one of the premier Belizean cultural festivals in the United States and we look forward to seeing you all next year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Phyllis V. Hughes
President
Belize Educational Fund and Day in the Park Committee
