Placencia Chairperson – 3 Years in Review
Good Day My Fellow Placencians,
It has been a pleasure serving my community, as Chairperson of Placencia Village, for the past three years. A big heartfelt thank you to those who gave me the chance to serve my community from 2010 to 2013. A big thank you to those who have advised and help me along the way to be the best leader I could be. And especially those who walked the walk and assisted in the development of our community, without seeking credit, merit or accolades, but simply for love, kindness and caring, and realizing that what you do will not only benefit you and your family, but future generations. For that, I salute you.
Sanctity of Village Council Election
Village Council elections have become a joke. The representatives from Elections and Boundaries show up. They open our community center. Announce to who are present, some basic rules. Ask those who are running for Chairperson and Councilors to step forward and proceeded with protocol. And let the games begin.
There is no call for a prayer and National Anthem from the E&B Representatives. Nothing. Just the feeling of, “Let’s just get this done and over with. We got better things to do.” It seems that there is no patriotism, respect and pride for the sanctity of our sovereign nation of Belize.
